You can find Enrica here on Facebook, reading the Blog or find her creations in her online store.

Poi faccio colazione e mi metto subito all’opera!
Ogni giorno è diverso perché a volte do la priorità agli ordini personalizzati, altre volte penso a rifornire qualche negozio o il mio shop on line e altre volte corro in posta a spedire pacchi.

Io ci sto ancora lavorando!

1. How did you get into illustration?
Since I was  a child, thanks to museum visits, I grew up  passionate about the colors, the modeling clay and drawing. Attacking on the walls of the house a bit 'of clay or draw some nice red line were my great passions!
In 2005 I graduated from the Art School in Venice and I then attended the Laboratories of illustration for children in Sarmede and all'Artelier of Padua, conducted by Anna Laura Cantone, Eva Montanari and Karen La Fata.
I absorbed like a sponge all their advices and I wrote down on a notebook some small rules, the titles of picture books and the names of various libraries in my area.
Since 2009 I started to test me, participating in various competitions.
Since this is my passion for illustration which then led me to research directed to the illustration applied to everyday objects and accessories in wood and ceramic.

2. What do you enjoy most about your job?
Be free to choose what to do. Be free to be able to manage my time. Making choices of the heart without having to depend on others. Living in a world of my own. Cuddle with a hot tea in a drawing and the other to forget the noise of the world. And the thing I like most is to be able to work anywhere (with two pencils and a notebook of blank sheets) even after a long journey.

3. What are the tree words that describe your work?
Dreamy, soft and carefree.

4. Can you describe on of your typical day?
One thing is sure: I always wakes up by my cat.
Then I have breakfast and I start to work immediately!
Every day is different because sometimes I have to give priority to custom orders, other times I think to replenish some store or my shop on line and other times I run in the mail to send parcels.
The afternoon is spent with more confidence and is dedicated to photographs, to the costs of materials, to email, to my French class, to a walk or a bike ride in Venice surrounded by greenery.
Other times I lose the sense of time illustrating until the night.

5. What is your working environment like?
The truth? I created three work areas scattered throughout the house, but in the end I did not use any.
In winter I invade the space of others and I occupy the living room table a few inches from a stove.
In summer I always work on the table in the garden, in the open air, surrounded by trees and flowers of hydrangeas.

6. Do you think an illustrator needs a style? and what are your tips on developing an illustration style?
I don't think to have search for it. It all started by accident, drawing every day, so I can not really give any suggestions about the style. Maybe what matters is have fun with the techniques to find those are better  for you, and this is a great job. I'm still working on it!
