WORLD ♥ INTERIORS #9

- March 26, 2015 -

Among the houses that I choose to show you through this column that I particularly love (because it combines my passion for travels, even now more and more virtual :-(, with the passion for the houses decorated with style and personality), there are some that make my eyes shine when I see them.

In fact today I want to show you two beautiful apartments in Australia which seduced me with the presence of amazing furnishings, plants almost everywhere and unusual color choices, and what about the sense of warmth and welcome they are filled with?

An eclectic mix that I hope you will love too ;-)

Spring has arrived here in Puglia only in theory... in fact since yesterday we are surrounded by rain, cold and wind, ugh!!!
Even in this grey Monday we are lucky to bright it with the many colors of imagination thanks to our happy column dedicated to Illustration ;-)

Dreamy and delicate is the world of Enrica and her characters that fill with joy her handmade creations made with so much heart, and skill of course !!!
She has been happy to share with us a little part of herself and her works, that's why I thank her very much, and especially invite you to look around constantly her beautiful world!
You can find Enrica here on Facebook, reading the Blog or find her creations in her online store.

Poi faccio colazione e mi metto subito all’opera!
Ogni giorno è diverso perché a volte do la priorità agli ordini personalizzati, altre volte penso a rifornire qualche negozio o il mio shop on line e altre volte corro in posta a spedire pacchi.

Io ci sto ancora lavorando!

1. How did you get into illustration?
Since I was  a child, thanks to museum visits, I grew up  passionate about the colors, the modeling clay and drawing. Attacking on the walls of the house a bit 'of clay or draw some nice red line were my great passions!
In 2005 I graduated from the Art School in Venice and I then attended the Laboratories of illustration for children in Sarmede and all'Artelier of Padua, conducted by Anna Laura Cantone, Eva Montanari and Karen La Fata.
I absorbed like a sponge all their advices and I wrote down on a notebook some small rules, the titles of picture books and the names of various libraries in my area.
Since 2009 I started to test me, participating in various competitions.
Since this is my passion for illustration which then led me to research directed to the illustration applied to everyday objects and accessories in wood and ceramic.

2. What do you enjoy most about your job?
Be free to choose what to do. Be free to be able to manage my time. Making choices of the heart without having to depend on others. Living in a world of my own. Cuddle with a hot tea in a drawing and the other to forget the noise of the world. And the thing I like most is to be able to work anywhere (with two pencils and a notebook of blank sheets) even after a long journey.

3. What are the tree words that describe your work?
Dreamy, soft and carefree.

4. Can you describe on of your typical day?
One thing is sure: I always wakes up by my cat.
Then I have breakfast and I start to work immediately!
Every day is different because sometimes I have to give priority to custom orders, other times I think to replenish some store or my shop on line and other times I run in the mail to send parcels.
The afternoon is spent with more confidence and is dedicated to photographs, to the costs of materials, to email, to my French class, to a walk or a bike ride in Venice surrounded by greenery.
Other times I lose the sense of time illustrating until the night.

5. What is your working environment like?
The truth? I created three work areas scattered throughout the house, but in the end I did not use any.
In winter I invade the space of others and I occupy the living room table a few inches from a stove.
In summer I always work on the table in the garden, in the open air, surrounded by trees and flowers of hydrangeas.

6. Do you think an illustrator needs a style? and what are your tips on developing an illustration style?
I don't think to have search for it. It all started by accident, drawing every day, so I can not really give any suggestions about the style. Maybe what matters is have fun with the techniques to find those are better  for you, and this is a great job. I'm still working on it!

Colors and Style by Masquespacio

- March 17, 2015 -

Ciaoooo :-)

The projects they realize are a very successful mix of color, graphics and visuals elements that can give character and contemporary charm not only to the space but also to the brand itself, developing a very personal style aesthetically fascinating that makes them even researched out of Spain.
Who I'm talking about? Of course of talented Masquespacio.

The name of their studio gives us very well the concept of what they love to do and think, and what I show you today is the project of a school of Spanish language that I was completely enchanted because they used all the colors, the materials (and even the chairs !!!) that I love most!!!
And what about the effect of color on the walls?I think it's fantastic... right?

DO WHAT YOU LOVE CONTEST

- March 12, 2015 -

Detto, fatto!!!

Right now in our little house the area that is still to be defined, or rather to make functional and welcoming as I would like is the 'Entry... I would like to screen a bit the view of the dining area / living room that is right in front of you when you enter, and be able to eliminate the view of one pole that is right in the middle of all the space!!! I do not know how I will succeed, maybe just before the yet another moving ;-) In the meantime I wish you good inspiration!

Flowerful shops

- March 03, 2015 -

One of the things I love most of our trips is walking the narrow streets, and the unknown roads to many, looking for shops and places where you can eat with a good price ; -)!
However my favorite shops and windows remain those of florists, or flowers designer if you want... Watching at those baskets overflowing with flowers, the pots stacked waiting to be planted, and then the bulbs of every color and size, and why not to mention how designers begin to interact with the shop owners enriching with wonderful details almost everything, from the interior design of the shop to finish with visual merchandising and packaging !!!
Even in Italy beautiful showcases and well-designed interiors are increasingly full of atmosphere in the florists shops... but maybe I'll speak about this in another post ok? ;-)
