Più diventa costante l'appuntamento con gli Illustratori di ILLUSTRATOR MONDAY e più sono felice... non solo perché riesco ad entrare nel mio piccolo in un mondo che amo da sempre, ma anche perché grazie alle interviste diventa semplice accorciare le distanze e scoprire le bellissime persone che condividono con noi i fantastici sogni a colori che portano con sé !!!
Sono fermamente convinta che la Fantasia sia un elemento fondamentale per riuscire a riconoscere e riscoprire la Bellezza intorno a noi, ed è anche grazie alle opere di chi chi Illustra e Disegna senza sosta nonostante le difficoltà economiche e commerciali se possiamo continuare a coltivare uno sguardo sul mondo ancora entusiasta, colorato e poetico.

Mi sono avvicinata molto tardi al
mondo dell’illustrazione, ho frequentato il mio primo corso d'Illustrazione a
30 anni. Prima il mio percorso di studi è stato liceo artistico, un anno di
architettura e poi la triennale in beni culturali.
Durante il mio percorso
universitario io già lavoravo nell’ufficio tecnico dove tutt’ora lavoro part
time 3 giorni alla settimana.
2. Cosa ti piace di più del tuo lavoro?
La cosa che amo di più e vedere
nascere un immagine, e spero che la mia intuizione riesca a dar forma ai
pensieri del mio cliente.
Direi che la parte che amo di più sono i bozzetti, la ricerca, le associazioni di pensieri. Quella che amo di meno sono le infinite correzioni che possono verificarsi con alcuni clienti :/

4. Puoi descriverci la tua giornata tipo?
Ecco finalmente una domanda
concreta che pochi mi fanno, mettiti comoda è una lunga risposta.
Io penso che gli aspetti
quotidiani siano importantissimi e cambiano il nostro modo di lavorare, io
prima di avere un figlio avevo intere giornate a mia disposizione, potevo non
dormire la notte e la mattina svegliarmi tardi, potevo disegnare tutto un
pomeriggio senza interruzioni ed altro ancora.
Matteo (è mio figlio ed oggi ha 4
anni) mi ha fatto capire con il suo arrivo, che se volevo continuare a disegnare
dovevo ottimizzare il tempo e il mio modo di lavorare.
Ma facciamo un passo indietro.
Più che la giornata tipo io dovrei parlarti della settimana tipo.
Io lavoro par time in un ufficio tecnico dal martedì al giovedì. In questi giorni esco di casa alle 6.30 del mattino e rientro alle 16.
A casa mi aspettano mio marito e mio figlio che in genere appena mi vede chiede " mamma giochiamo?"
Più che la giornata tipo io dovrei parlarti della settimana tipo.

A casa mi aspettano mio marito e mio figlio che in genere appena mi vede chiede " mamma giochiamo?"
Posso dedicarmi all'illustrazione con un attimo di calma solo lunedì e venerdì
quando Matteo va a scuola. Se sono al lavoro su commissioni, il sabato e la
domenica mi organizzo per avere un paio d’ora a disposizione.
Poi ci sono i pranzi da
preparare, i bucati da stendere, una casa da contenere evitando l’esplosione,
passeggiate al parco, visite ai nonni, spese settimanili per non morire di fame… attimi di pausa per un caffè al bar con mio marito.
Come si deduce io ho pochissimo
tempo per disegnare, ma ho imparato a convivere con questa mancanza di tempo, per
ora “accontentandomi” di fare piccole cose. Infatti io lavoro poco a progetti di
libri, il 90% dei miei clienti sono commissioni di privati, o lavori per
piccoli libri o progetti personali.
Quello che mi dico è che il tempo
passa, tutto cambia. Tra qualche anno sarà tutto diverso, ma io intanto disegno
e imparo a scovare nuovi spazi privati.

6. Pensi un illustratore abbia bisogno di uno stile personale? e quali sono i tuoi suggerimenti per svilupparne uno?
Assolutamente si,
altrimenti ti perdi non sei riconoscibile nel vasto mare dell’illustrazione, è
un percorso faticoso, non veloce ma necessario. Bisogna trovare se stessi nel
disegno, e questo “se stessi” negli anni cambierà.
Più che suggerimenti posso
dire quello che faccio io. Disegno cercando di capire quali sono le mie
caratteristiche personali. Cosa amo di più, cosa mi entusiasma che non sia
disegno.
Cerco di arricchire il mio
universo illustrato di cose che non sono illustrazione, lo si nota molto con il
mio amore per i fiori J
Vorrei chiudere questa intervista, ringraziandoti per lo spazio che mi hai dedicato ma soprattutto ringraziando mio marito Alessandro perché lui è un pezzo indispensabile di questo puzzle, senza di lui tutto questo non sarebbe possibile. Alessandro non solo mi sostiene nel mio cammino d’illustratrice, si arrabbia se mi fermo!
Oltre ad essere il mio amore e compagno quotidiano, Alessandro è mio socio nella creazione dei prodotti di Officina Mezzaluna. E’ lui il creatore di tutti gli oggetti con le mie immagini che si possono vedere sul mio shop di Etsy.
Lui lavora nell’ombra e purtroppo non è visibile il suo lavoro, ma posso onestamente dire che molte moltissime cose sono sostenute da lui.

1. How did you get into illustration?
I approached very late to the world of illustration, I attended my first course in illustration when I was 30 years. Before my course of study has been an art school, a year of architecture course and then the three-year cultural heritage. During my university career I have worked in the technical department where I still work part time 3 days a week.
2. What do you enjoy most about your job?
The thing I love the most and see the birth of a picture, and I hope that my intuition is able to shape the thoughts of my client. I would say that the part I love the most are the sketches, research, the associations of thoughts.

4. Can you describe on of your typical day?
Finally a concrete question that few make me, make yourself comfortable because it's a long answer.
I think that the daily aspects are really important and change the way we work, before I have a child I had entire days at my disposal, I could not sleep at night and wake up later in the morning, I could draw a whole afternoon without interruption and more .
Matthew (and today is my son is 4 years old) made me realize with his arrival, that if I wanted to continue drawing had to optimize the time and the way I work
But let's step back.
More than the typical day of the week I should talk type.
Par time I work in a technical office from Tuesday to Thursday. These days I leave the house at 6.30 am and return at 16.
At home I expect my husband and my son who usually just see me asking "Mom can we play?"
I can dedicate myself to illustration with a moment of calm only on Mondays and Fridays when Matthew goes to school. If you are working on commissions, Saturdays and Sundays I organize to have a couple of hours available.
Then there are the lunches to prepare, with holes to spread, a house to contain avoiding the explosion, walks in the park, visits to grandparents, expenses settimanili not to starve ... moments of pause for a coffee at the bar with my husband.
As is clear I have no time to draw, but I've learned to live with this lack of time, for now "be content" to do little things. In fact I work on projects of little books, 90% of my clients are private commissions, or work for small books or personal projects.
What I say is that time passes, everything changes. In a few years it will all be different, but I while I learn to design and discover new private spaces.

Absolutely, otherwise you lose, you are not recognizable in the vast sea of illustration, is a taxing, not fast but necessary. You have to find themselves in the drawing, and this "self" will change over the years.
